Robotic Loss On Ignition Analyzer

The Labfit Robotic TGA4000 Loss On Ignition Analyzer is designed for high throughput of samples primarily for the iron ore and bauxite mining industries. The system has been proven for well over 10 years with a standard deviation better than 0.05% and maintaining 1600+ samples per day. The accuracy of the TGA4000 Loss on Ignition analyzer is because of the unique way in which Labfit weighs the LOI samples with in the thermo gravimetric furnace.

Loss on Ignition Analysis by Robot

The Labfit TGA4000 Robotic Loss On Ignition Analyzer utilizes an industrial robot to move the sample carousels around the system. There are 4 thermal gravimetric furnaces in the system, each held at temperature to with in 1% of the desired temperature set point. As each carousel advances through the thermal gravimetric furnaces, the robot finally presents the carousel to the last furnace where Loss on Ignition takes place. The system then calculates the Loss On Ignition and provides the results for export to LIMS. The carousel is also designed to fit the Drying Oven which holds 8 Loss on Ignition carousels as well as the Loading Cabinet which holds 7.

Loss on Ignition in Production

The Carousel designed for the TGA4000 Loss on Ignition Analyzer holds a whopping 42 samples. The system can analyze partially filled carousels reducing auto-sampler indexing time to achieve high throughput. While the system has 4 furnace that are maintained at constant temperature the system can also be placed into tanden mode where 2 furnaces work together with each other to perform a 2 stage LOI. The robot moves the sample carousel around the system (furnace to furnace) before cooling the carousel and then placing the carousel back into the sample loading cabinet. The furances can maintain a temperature from abient up to 1100 deg. Celsius.
