The calorimeter comes as standard with a flat touchscreen controller. The external oxygen filling stations and Combustion Vessel Coolers are incorporated in one compact unit. As many as three calorimeters can be controlled by the same unit.
	The combustion vessel with its bayonet style locking mechanism is permanantly mounted in the instrument, and need not be removed between determinations. The polished stainless steel lid and top plate is corrosion free and easy to keep clean.
The important advantages of this Combustion Vessel Cap are both the speed of the closing the Combustion Vessel and the extremely long life it provides, due to the absence of conventional wear prone threads. Some Combustion Vessels in earlier Calorimeters have been in service for up to 15 years with no need for any replacements of either the Combustion Vessel or the Vessel Cap. A new patented development called the "DRAGON" ignitor system, replaces the old style wire or cotton thread ignition methods. A tiny drop of liquid is ignited inside the cross tube by a long life platinum alloy wire, and the burning liquid drops out of the "S' tube onto the sample, igniting it. Very low misfire rates are experienced with this system, unlike other methods, where a single drop of water on the cotton fuse will almost certainly guarantee a misfire.
